3. Blood in Stools
Typically, if you have blood in your stools it is caused by hemorrhoids. This is where the veins through the anus are fragile and may bleed when having a bowel movement. Blood in the stool that is caused by a hemorrhoid is typically red.
If you notice black or dark red blood in your stool, this could be a sign of rectal, colon, or bowel cancer. Another reason for dark blood in the stool is a stomach ulcer.
If you have noticed any type of blood in your stool, no matter what color, it is important to make sure to talk to your doctor and have it checked out as this is the only way to determine a proper diagnosis and essentially appropriate treatment.
