2. Difficulty Swallowing or a Persistent Sore Throat
People get sore throats for many different reasons. There are many viruses and bacteria that will cause the throat to be sore. A person with throat cancer will often develop a persistent sore throat. The soreness is often accompanied with a sensation of something being stuck inside the throat.
It may also become difficult to swallow certain types of food. This difficulty swallowing may be caused by a tumor being present within the throat or the surrounding area. If a sore throat is caused by a cold or the flu the symptoms will go away. However, if it is caused by a tumor the symptom will be persistent.
